SWONA Annual Picnic Aug 4
UPDATE 08/02/2018: Just a reminder for you folks – our neighborhood picnic is this Saturday starting a 11 a.m. There will be games (hanging donuts, sack race, water balloon toss) for the kids and adults who like that sort of thing, music, and information about local events. We will have a few political candidates coming by but we will try to keep speeches short and in the middle of the event (about 12:30-1 pm). In addition to regular hot dogs, we will have a limited amount of veggie dogs/burgers available. Thanks in advance to all those bringing a dish to share. Those of you interesting in helping set up can come by from 10 a.m. The weather is predicted to be lovely (low 70’s, partly sunny) so it should be a pleasant afternoon of meeting your neighbors, enjoying good food, music and games. If you live in Southwest Olympia you are invited to our annual picnic on August 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Decatur Woods Park. We will have a couple of grills and will supply hot dogs and fixings plus some beverages. Everyone is invited to contribute additional food items. If you bring a food item to share, we encourage you to fill out a tag with ingredients to help other neighbors who may have food sensitivities or restrictions. There will be kids’ games, music, and a welcome table with information about SWONA and other things local. To cut down on garbage, we encourage you to bring your own cups and utensils to supplement our own (disposable) supplies. Hope to see you there.
